Barb returns to Bessy’s acre’s looking to join the permanent staff a few years after she left in the month of September after the yearly interns have some and gone. She has returned as she never felt as lovely and happy as when she had been a cowgirl and looks forward to rejoining their ranks.

This will be a closer examination of the daily life of the cow girls during the three other seasons, other than the summer when interns are present on the farm.

Barb signs the employment contract and is placed with some other new permanent hires from among those who were interns over the summer.

I figure the reason why only full time cow women are supposed to take part in man week would be either
A) it in some way locks the transformation in whole or in part so becoming human again is lost
B) the prospect of pregnancy (which would mean births in the spring)
C) leaves the cow girl a little more cow than human over time

I lean towards B because the other aspect that would need to be covered would be the source of that really pure milk which I also figure would be either
A) cow women who have been so for generations
B) new mothers milk from pregnant cow girls
C) some sort of special refining process

  1. It could be interesting to see some aspects of the original story from the cow girls rather then the intern’s perspective.

Like when the interns arrive whether there is some bet among the full times on how many will break the first rule of not drinking the unprocessed milk. Or a competition of who can tempt the most interns into doing it. You know sort of Sorority prank level stuff.

or take into the more serious realm of what would happen if the reverse formula didn’t work on an intern leaving them stuck as a cowgirl whether they liked it or not. A sort of one in a million genetic quirk, heck maybe she goes more cow as well then others as part of it as well.

I would also like to see how that milking contest mentioned in the original work would play out. I mean all of the milking is done by hand so presumably the cowgirls would have intern or other cowgirl partners for it perhaps. To say nothing of what the first place prize would be.

  2. You know thinking about it in a closer examination of this, another question that could be answers if how discipline is kept in regards to the permanent staff. I mean Samantha’s mom was banned, but presumably they can’t afford for that to be the only deterrent as they can’t afford to exile their whole staff.

But what would be the punishments for the cowgirls on such a farm? Temporary reversal to human status? Further transformation into cows and maybe losing their hands as a result? A ban on sex with other cows? Not being milked and left with engorged and sore breasts?

On the flip side other than the milking contest what other incentives or perks do the best producers perhaps get at the farm to encourage productivity among them.

Does the farm have any troubles with girls sneaking onto the property to drink from the source and how are they dealt with.
On the smaller note would be what other mayhem could Bessy’s careless assistant cause beyond that which occurred in the original story.

Still so much potential with this setting.
