Barbara and her longtime friend and now boyfriend, Kevin, are part of a late night study session working on their group thesis. The topic is the unconscious mind and how much healing power it really has. The general thought is that when in a situation such as a coma, often the victim’s mind is capable of self repair, healing beyond known medicine or science.

Barbara never realizes just how much the internal workings of her own mind will be revealed to her before the night is over. She is tired when she parts ways with her boyfriend, opting to drive all the wall home instead of staying over at his place. Along the way, a deer sends her into a ditch and from there on things get very surreal for her.

Finding herself taken to a strange country hospital, Barbara finds that she seems to be recovering from whatever injuries the accident caused, but is she healing into the same girl she was before?.
